American drama in which a family's stability is tested after they move to Palos Verdes, California in an attempt to start a new life. When the Mason family start over in Palos Verdes, their initial hopeful outlooks soon turn to pain and despair when each member of the family adapts differently to their new way of living. With the father, Phil (Justin Kirk) having his head turned by another woman and the mother, Sandy (Jennifer Garner), struggling to fit in among her new friends, their twin children Medina (Maika Monroe) and Jim (Cody Fern) grapple difficulties of their own while they witness their family falling apart.
