Tuck (Dennis Quaid) deltar i ett topphemligt experiment där han och en ubåtsliknande farkost krymps och injiceras av misstag i snabbköpsbiträdet Jack (Martin Short). Spioner har stulit datachipet som krävs för att förstora honom igen och nu är det upp till hans ex-flickvän Lydia (Meg Ryan) och den timida Jack att försöka ta det tillbaka.

A devil-may-care test pilot volunteers to be shrunk and injected into arabbit as part of a top secret experiment. When industrial spies steal one of the two microchips needed to reverse the process, the pilot accidentally is injected into the body of a timid supermarket clerk. the two,along with the pilot's girlfriend, have 24 hours to find the stolen microchip before the pilot uses up his oxygen supply.
