Directed by Pupi Avati, All Deceased... Except the Dead (1977) is a surreal Italian Giallo parody that playfully twists the conventions of murder-mystery and gothic horror. Set in an eerie country mansion, Avati blends dark comedy and atmosphere into a macabre satire of the Giallo craze, creating one of the most unusual Italian cult films of the 1970s.

When Dante, a dealer of rare books on noble families arrives at castle Zanotti to relate a strange prophecy that states that a hidden treasure will be revealed, only when all nine members of the family are dead, he discovers that one of the household has already passed away…

Directed by the critically acclaimed Pupi Avati who also helmed cult feature The House with Laughing Windows (1976) and the wonderfully creepy Zeder (1983), All the Souls…Except the Dead AKA Tutti defunti…tranne I morti (1977), is a skilfully presented piece of mid 70s Italian horror combining the aesthetics of Giallo with an Agatha Christie-style murder mystery.

Från IMDB:
Dante must sell books on the legends related to the noble families of Emilia-Romagna to the descendants of the families themselves. When he arrives at the castle Zanotti, he learns that the head of the family, the Marquis Ignazio, has just died that morning.
