Directed by John Halas and Joy Batchelor, Animal Farm adapts George Orwells political allegory about farm animals who overthrow their human owner only to see a new dictatorship emerge under the pigs. The story mirrors the Russian Revolution and the rise of Stalinism through an increasingly oppressive society ruled by Napoleon. Released in 1954, it was Britains first animated feature film
