Batman (1989)
Directed by Tim Burton, Batman reimagines Gotham as a dark, gothic metropolis where Michael Keatons brooding hero faces Jack Nicholsons unforgettable Joker. Combining Superhero Action, Gothic & Spooky Fantasy, and noir-inspired atmosphere, it revolutionized the comic book movie and defined Batman for a new generation within the DC Comics / Batman universe.

Batman Returns (1992)
Batman Returns deepens Burtons gothic vision with a darker, more surreal edge. Michael Keaton returns alongside Michelle Pfeiffers iconic Catwoman and Danny DeVitos grotesque Penguin. A striking fusion of Superhero Action, Gothic & Spooky Fantasy, and Dark Fantasy, it stands among the most stylized and emotionally complex Batman films ever made.

Batman Forever (1995)
Directed by Joel Schumacher, Batman Forever brings a neon-drenched spectacle to Gotham as Val Kilmer takes the cowl to face Jim Carreys Riddler and Tommy Lee Joness Two-Face. Mixing Superhero Action with Fantastical & Quirky Comedy, it marks a vibrant tonal shift in the DC Comics / Batman franchise.

Batman & Robin (1997)
Directed by Joel Schumacher, embraces camp excess with George Clooney as Batman and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze. A colorful blend of Superhero Action, Comedy & Camp Horror (tonally adjacent), and Fantastical & Quirky Comedy, it closes the 1990s Batman era in over-the-top, toyetic fashion infamous yet enduring in the DC Comics / Batman legacy.
