Black Sails (2014 2017)

Black Sails serves as a prequel to Treasure Island, following Captain Flint and a crew of pirates as they navigate shifting alliances, colonial power struggles, and the fight for control of New Providence Island in the early 18th century. The series blends historical detail with character-driven drama, exploring themes of survival, governance, and the tension between personal ambition and collective ideals. Its portrayal of maritime conflict, evolving loyalties, and the economics of piracy offers a grounded interpretation of the so-called Golden Age of Piracy.
