Blade (1998)
Stephen Norringtons Blade adapts the Marvel comic into a hybrid of vampire mythology and late-90s action stylization, following Wesley Snipes as the half-human, half-vampire hunter navigating an underground supernatural hierarchy. The film blends martial-arts choreography, techno-goth aesthetics, and comic-book noir, helping shape the tone of early modern superhero cinema. Its world-building and visual identity marked a shift toward darker, more mature comic adaptations.

Blade II (2002)
Directed by Guillermo del Toro, Blade II expands the series into a more creature-driven, stylistically ornate realm as Blade allies with vampire elites to confront the mutated Reaper strain. Del Toros distinctive design work, practical creature effects, and thematic interest in monstrosity give the sequel a strong authorial imprint. The film stands out for merging comic-book action with del Toros evolving horror-fantasy sensibility.

Blade: Trinity (2004)
Blade: Trinity, directed by David S. Goyer, places Blade within a broader conflict as he joins a new team of hunters to face a modern resurrection of Dracula. Mixing action-horror elements with ensemble banter, the film shifts the series toward a more contemporary team-based dynamic. Its blend of comic-book lore, urban gothic atmosphere, and franchise expansion marks a departure from the tighter, more auteur-driven earlier entries.
