Directed by Terry Gilliam, Brazil (1985) is a visionary dystopian satire set in a bureaucratic, dreamlike future. When a mild-mannered clerk (Jonathan Pryce) becomes entangled in a clerical error and a terrorist hunt, his quiet life spirals into absurd chaos. Combining Orwellian totalitarianism with dark humour and surreal imagination, Gilliams masterpiece stands as one of cinemas most striking visions of state control and rebellion.
