Carlton-Browne of the F.O. (1959), starring Terry-Thomas and Peter Sellers, is a sharp British political satire about an incompetent Foreign Office diplomat sent to manage a crisis in a fictional island nation. Blending Cold War paranoia with absurd colonial bureaucracy, it delivers classic dry British humor and early political comedy.

Från IMDB:
A former British colony in dire need of economic aid tries to play the British against the Soviets in an attempt to secure economic aid from either side in return for political loyalty.
