Missing in Action (1984)
Directed by Joseph Zito, Missing in Action follows a former POW who returns to Vietnam on an unsanctioned mission to investigate reports of American soldiers still held captive. The film blends military-action set pieces with Cold War-era themes of trauma, loyalty, and unresolved wartime consequences. It became one of Chuck Norriss defining roles, shaping Cannon Films approach to 1980s action cinema.

Code of Silence (1985)
Code of Silence, directed by Andrew Davis, centers on a Chicago detective caught between a brewing gang war and corruption within his own department. The film adopts a grounded, procedural tone, highlighting urban tension, internal ethics, and street-level criminal networks. Often considered one of Chuck Norriss strongest dramatic action roles, it anticipates the more realistic style Davis would later bring to his 1990s thrillers.

Lone Wolf McQuade (1983)
Directed by Steve Carver, Lone Wolf McQuade follows a maverick Texas Ranger whose solitary methods and personal code put him at odds with both criminals and official channels. The film mixes modern law-enforcement action with Western-hero iconography, framing Chuck Norris as a lone-operator archetype. Its blend of martial-arts choreography and Southwestern atmosphere helped establish Norriss long-term screen persona.
