Das Boot expands Lothar-Günther Buchheims World War II story across four seasons, following German U-boat crews alongside resistance members, intelligence officers and civilians caught between loyalty, survival and opposition to the Nazi regime. Rick Okon, Vicky Krieps, Tom Wlaschiha and Franz Dinda lead an international ensemble as submarine missions in the Atlantic and Mediterranean intersect with espionage, political intrigue and resistance activity across occupied Europe. The series combines submarine warfare, military suspense and war drama while examining the human consequences of an increasingly desperate conflict.
