Dogville (2003), written and directed by Lars von Trier, is a minimalist and provocative drama set in a fictional American town during the Great Depression. Nicole Kidman stars as a fugitive woman whose arrival exposes the moral hypocrisy and cruelty beneath a seemingly tight-knit community. Told on a bare stage with narrated chapters, the film functions as a moral allegory examining power, exploitation, and collective responsibility.

Från IMDB:
A woman on the run from the mob is reluctantly accepted in a small Colorado community in exchange for labor, but when a search visits the town she finds out that their support has a price.
