Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Dennis Weaver, Duel follows a traveling salesman who becomes relentlessly pursued across isolated highways by the unseen driver of a massive tanker truck. Combining psychological tension, road paranoia and minimalist suspense, the film transforms an ordinary highway journey into an escalating battle for survival. Originally produced for television, Duel became one of Spielbergs earliest breakthrough works and remains closely associated with 1970s American suspense cinema.
