Frankie, directed by Ira Sachs and starring Isabelle Huppert, is a quiet ensemble drama about a celebrated actress who gathers her extended family in the Portuguese town of Sintra as she faces a terminal illness. Over the course of a single summer day, unspoken tensions, regrets, and fragile relationships surface among parents, children, lovers, and former spouses. The film is a reflective portrait of mortality, family bonds, and emotional distance within a transient community.
