Free Solo (2018) is a documentary directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin following climber Alex Honnold as he prepares to climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without ropes. The film documents the training, planning and execution of the ascent. Free Solo won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
