Directed by Sean S. Cunningham and starring Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King and Kevin Bacon, Friday the 13th follows a group of young counsellors preparing to reopen Camp Crystal Lake despite the camps violent past. Isolated at the lakeside camp, they are stalked and murdered one by one by an unseen killer. The film launched the long-running Friday the 13th horror franchise and became one of the defining slashers of the early 1980s.
