Ghost in the Shell: Arise Border 3: Ghost Tears (2014)
Ghost Tears, directed by Kazuchika Kise, follows Motoko Kusanagi as she investigates a series of bombings linked to prosthetic-body manufacturers and a suspected cyber-terrorist group. The film blends emotional introspection with political and industrial intrigue, exploring attachment, engineered identity, and the vulnerabilities of networked bodies. Its mix of romance, conspiracy, and cyber-physical conflict broadens the Arise storylines thematic scope.

Ghost in the Shell: Arise Border 4: Ghost Stands Alone (2014)
Ghost Stands Alone concludes the Arise arc with Motoko confronting a sophisticated cyber-virus that manipulates collective behavior during a political parade. The film intertwines large-scale public unrest with questions about autonomy, perception, and the shaping of truth in a hyper-connected society. Its escalating tension and focus on emergent team dynamics pave the way for the formation of a fully realized Section 9.
