Gold Diggers of 1933 is a pre-Code Hollywood musical directed by Mervyn LeRoy. Set during the Great Depression, the film follows a group of showgirls trying to survive, work, and find love in hard economic times. Known for Busby Berkeleys spectacular musical numbers, it blends escapist entertainment with sharp social commentary. One of the defining musicals of the early 1930s.
