Directed by Régis Wargnier, Indochine (1992) is an Academy Award winning French historical drama set during the final years of French colonial rule in Vietnam. Winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, the movie intertwines personal relationships with sweeping political change, portraying love, identity, and cultural collision against a transforming society. Lavish in scale and emotional in tone, it reflects the end of an era rather than the mechanics of war.
