Alain Resnais Je taime, je taime is a French science fiction classic that blends experimental narrative with emotional depth. Following a man who becomes trapped in a malfunctioning time-travel experiment, the film explores memory, regret, and lost love through a surreal, looping structure. Its innovative take on time travel, romance, and existential drama makes it a cornerstone of European art-house sci-fi.

Claude leaves hospital recovered from a failed suicide attempt when some scientists offer him the chance to be part of a project. He will be the first human subject in a time travel experiment. Travelling back in time one year for just one minute, he becomes lost in a continually shifting mosaic of temporal episodes. A noted influence on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, in Je taime, je taime, Alain Resnais (Last Year in Marienbad) brings his cinematic obsession of time to the fore in this ingenious melding of sci-fi and romance.
