Directed by John Sturges and starring Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall, Joe Kidd follows a former bounty hunter drawn into a land dispute conflict in New Mexico. Written by Elmore Leonard, the film blends frontier action with shifting loyalties between lawmen, landowners, and revolutionaries. Released in 1972, it reflects the transitional tone of early 1970s American Westerns.
