Le Cercle Rouge is a meticulously controlled French crime film directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, starring Alain Delon as a recently released criminal drawn into a precisely executed jewel heist. Balancing the perspectives of criminals and police, the film builds tension through silence, ritual, and moral codes rather than spectacle. Its reputation rests on minimalist style, procedural precision, and an iconic, wordless heist sequence.
