The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), directed by Peter Jackson, is the first film in the trilogy based on J. R. R. Tolkiens novel. The story follows Frodo Baggins and a fellowship formed to destroy the One Ring and prevent the return of the Dark Lord Sauron. The film won four Academy Awards.
