Directed by Ralph Bakshi, The Lord of the Rings is an animated adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkiens fantasy books The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. The film follows Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Gandalf, Aragorn and the Fellowship on their journey through Middle-earth as the power of the One Ring threatens the world. Featuring voice performances by Christopher Guard, William Squire, John Hurt and Anthony Daniels, the film is a distinctive 1970s animated version of Tolkiens epic fantasy.
