Maximum Overdrive (1986), written and directed by Stephen King, is a cult horror-action hybrid about machines coming to life and turning against humanity. Set largely around a truck stop under siege by killer vehicles, the film blends gory chaos, dark humor, and apocalyptic menace with Kings trademark over-the-top style.
