Directed by Martin Scorsese, Mean Streets (1973) is a crime drama following small-time Italian-American criminals navigating debt, loyalty and violence in New Yorks Little Italy. Starring Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro, the film explores friendship, Catholic guilt and organized crime through a raw and street-level perspective on urban life. Combining character-driven storytelling with social realism and escalating tension, the story focuses on morality, ambition and self-destruction within a tightly connected criminal environment.

A low-level mafioso battles with his guilty conscience as he tries to save his misfit friend from the same world of crime that he was born into.
