Brian De Palmas Mission to Mars (2000), starring Gary Sinise and Tim Robbins, is a visually ambitious sci-fi drama about a rescue mission that uncovers extraterrestrial mysteries on the Red Planet. When a Mars expedition goes disastrously wrong, a second crew sets out to find survivors and confront the origins of life itself. Mixing space adventure with emotional character arcs, the film blends hard science-fiction concepts with De Palmas stylistic craftsmanship.
