When his Aunt Yee (Rosamund Kwan) returns from America, Wong must use his fighting skills to protect her as fierce battles between local and foreign forces intensify. In 'Once Upon a Time in China II' (1992) Wong faces the White Lotus Society, who are carrying out a host of attacks on anyone who is influenced by Western culture. He also encounters revolutionary Sun Yat-Sen (Zhang Tielin), who is trying to establish a Chinese Republic and Wong offers to protect him. Finally, in 'Once Upon a Time in China III' (1992) a competition is staged in Beijing to showcase Chinese martial arts in an attempt to restore national pride.
