Directed by Takashi Miike, Over Your Dead Body stars Ebizō Ichikawa and Kō Shibasaki as actors rehearsing a stage production of the classic Japanese ghost story Yotsuya Kaidan. As betrayal and jealousy in their real relationship begin to mirror the play, the boundary between performance and reality increasingly breaks down. The film combines Japanese supernatural horror, psychological unease and disturbing body-horror imagery.

Takashi Miikes Over Your Dead Body is a haunting tale where art and reality collide. Set against the backdrop of a kabuki production, the story follows actors whose personal jealousies and desires dangerously mirror the ghostly play they perform. As tensions rise, the boundary between stage and life dissolves, unleashing a nightmarish spiral of obsession, betrayal, and supernatural horror. Elegant and chilling, Miike crafts a disturbing descent into blurred realities.
