Directed by Tim Burton and starring Mark Wahlberg, Planet of the Apes reimagines the classic science-fiction franchise through the story of an astronaut stranded on a world ruled by intelligent apes. Featuring elaborate prosthetic effects and large-scale action sequences, the film combines dystopian sci-fi, survival adventure and social conflict as humans struggle under ape domination. The story blends futuristic worldbuilding, rebellion and philosophical science-fiction themes within Burtons visually stylized interpretation of the franchise.
