Rome, Open City (Roma città aperta) (1945)
Directed by Roberto Rossellini, Rome, Open City stars Anna Magnani and Aldo Fabrizi in a landmark Italian war drama set during the Nazi occupation of Rome. The film won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and became one of the defining works of Italian neorealism. It combines resistance drama, wartime occupation and civilian struggle within Rossellinis War Trilogy.

Paisan (Paisà) (1946)
Directed by Roberto Rossellini, Paisan is an episodic Italian war drama set during the Allied campaign in Italy during World War II. The film follows encounters between Italian civilians, partisans, monks and Allied soldiers across different regions of the country. It is a key work of Italian neorealism and the second film in Rossellinis War Trilogy.


Germany Year Zero (Germania anno zero) (1948)
Directed by Roberto Rossellini, Germany Year Zero is a post-war drama set in the ruins of Berlin after World War II. The film follows a young boy trying to survive amid poverty, family pressure and the moral collapse left behind by the war. It completes Rossellinis War Trilogy and continues his neorealist focus on civilians shaped by war and its aftermath.
