Alfred Hitchcocks Rope (1948) is a tense psychological thriller staged in real-time, inspired by the infamous Leopold and Loeb case. James Stewart stars as a professor who grows suspicious during a dinner party, unaware that two former students have hidden a murdered body in plain sight. Shot to resemble a single continuous take, the film is a claustrophobic study in arrogance, morality, and suspense.
