Wes Cravens Scream (1996) redefined the slasher genre with its mix of brutal kills, sharp self-awareness, and suspenseful mystery. Starring Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, the film follows a masked killer terrorizing a suburban town while cleverly deconstructing horror movie rules. Both terrifying and witty, it became one of the most influential horror films of the 1990s.
