Directed by Wes Craven, Swamp Thing (1982) is a comic book adaptation based on the DC Comics character created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. The film follows scientist Alec Holland, transformed into a plant-based creature after a sabotage attack involving a bio-restorative formula. Blending pulp adventure, monster cinema, and early superhero mythology, the film reflects the stylistic tone of early 1980s genre filmmaking. Adrienne Barbeau and Ray Wise co-star alongside Louis Jourdan as the films antagonist.
