Directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Madonna, Swept Away follows a wealthy socialite and a sailor who become stranded on a remote Mediterranean island after a boating accident. The film combines romantic conflict, class tension and survival elements while reinterpreting Lina Wertmüllers controversial 1974 film for a modern audience.
