François Ozons Swimming Pool (2003) is a slow-burning psychological thriller about authorship, repression, and desire. A British crime novelist retreats to her publishers French country house for solitude but when his young daughter arrives, fantasy and reality blur in increasingly erotic and unsettling ways. Elegant, ambiguous, and hypnotically performed by Charlotte Rampling, its one of Ozons most acclaimed films.
