Directed by James Hawes, The Amateur (2025) stars Rami Malek as a CIA cryptographer who takes matters into his own hands after his wife is killed in a terrorist attack. Using intelligence skills rather than field training, he pursues those responsible while uncovering deeper institutional corruption. The film blends espionage mechanics with personal revenge and international pursuit.
