The Company of Wolves (1984), directed by Neil Jordan, is a Gothic fantasy-horror inspired by Angela Carters dark retellings of Little Red Riding Hood. A dreamlike journey through tales of werewolves, sexual awakening, and folklore, the film mixes dark fantasy, Gothic horror, and feminist fairy-tale allegory. With surreal visuals and allegorical storytelling, it has become a cult classic of European fantasy cinema.
