In Rupert Sanders 2024 adaptation of James OBarrs cult graphic novel, Bill Skarsgård plays Eric Draven, who is brutally murdered along with his soulmate Shelly (FKA Twigs) and then returns from the dead via a supernatural crow to exact vengeance on the criminal mastermind behind their deaths. With gothic visuals, dark fantasy revenge action, and an otherworldly quest from the realm of the dead to the streets of the living, it combines comic-book myth, love lost, and resurrected justice into a modern vigilante spectacle.
