The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980)
Directed by Jamie Uys, The Gods Must Be Crazy stars Nǃxau ǂToma as Xi, a Kalahari man whose community encounters a discarded Coca-Cola bottle. Marius Weyers and Sandra Prinsloo co-star in a South African comedy built around culture clash, slapstick, bureaucracy, rural life and modern civilisation. The film combines fish-out-of-water comedy, physical humour and road-movie-like misunderstandings across the Kalahari setting.

The Gods Must Be Crazy II (1989)
Directed by Jamie Uys, The Gods Must Be Crazy II continues the South African comedy series with Nǃxau ǂToma returning as Xi. Lena Farugia, Hans Strydom and Eiros co-star in a Kalahari-set comedy built around separated children, stranded outsiders, slapstick misunderstandings and culture-clash humour. The film combines physical comedy, desert survival situations and intersecting comic storylines.
