'Life is one fool thing after another whereas love is two fool things after each other.'
The Happy Prince

Inspired by the Irish fairy tales of his childhood, Oscar Wilde's imaginative story-telling incorporates a variety of genres - from mystery to fantasy and the supernatural. This collection includes three of such stories: 'The Happy Prince', a tender story about friendship and compassion; 'The Remarkable Rocket', a cautionary tale about a deluded, self-important firework; and Lord Arthur Savile's Crime and Other Stories, a comic mystery about an ominous prediction. Wilde's aesthetic preoccupations are evident in every line.

Witty, wise, big-hearted, and sometimes melancholy, these writings are a testament to his standing as a literary genius of the Victorian age.
