Alexandre Ajas The Hills Have Eyes (2006) reimagines Wes Cravens cult classic with a brutal, gore-drenched edge. A family stranded in the desert is hunted by a clan of radioactive mutants born from nuclear testing. Combining survival horror, backwoods terror, and extreme exploitation gore, its one of the definitive remakes of modern horror.

The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007) shifts the desert horror from a family to a group of National Guard trainees ambushed by the mutant cannibal clan during a training exercise. With relentless violence and splatter effects, it doubles down on survival and exploitation horror in a military vs. mutant showdown.
