François Truffauts The Last Metro (1980) is a moving wartime Romantic Drama set in Nazi-occupied Paris, where love, art, and survival intertwine behind the stage lights of a theatre. Starring Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu, this History & Period Drama and War Drama explores censorship, resistance, and the resilience of artists under oppression one of Truffauts most acclaimed later works.

François Truffauts late-career drama features mesmerising performances from two icons of French cinema, Catherine Deneuve (Belle de jour) and Gérard Depardieu (Cyrano de Bergerac), in a powerful character study set in German-occupied Paris.
The Last Metro explores the fortunes of the Montmartre Theatre as its owner (Deneuve) battles censorship and compromise while hiding her Jewish husband from Nazi persecution. When a new leading man (Depardieu) is hired, she is irresistibly drawn to him even though he may not be all he seems. Truffauts multi-award-winning masterpiece is presented here in High Definition from a 2K restoration.
