Directed by Ben Wheatley, Meg 2: The Trench (2023) reunites Jason Statham in a sequel that expands the prehistoric shark threat to a larger-scale deep-sea expedition. The story follows an underwater research mission that encounters multiple giant marine predators, leading to a series of large-scale confrontations above and below the ocean surface. The film blends creature-feature spectacle with international action set pieces.
