Directed by Mark Pellington, The Mothman Prophecies stars Richard Gere as a journalist drawn to the small town of Point Pleasant after a series of disturbing coincidences and unexplained encounters. Working with local police officer Connie Mills, played by Laura Linney, he investigates reports of strange voices, visions and a mysterious winged figure that appear to foreshadow disaster. Based on John A. Keels book, the film combines supernatural mystery, psychological unease and small-town suspense with events inspired by the Mothman legend.
