Directed by Robert Eggers, The Northman stars Alexander Skarsgård alongside Nicole Kidman and Anya Taylor-Joy in a brutal Viking revenge epic rooted in Norse mythology. Set in a harsh medieval world shaped by ritual, fate, and violence, the film blends historical realism with mythic visions and prophecy. Its uncompromising tone favors ritualistic brutality and destiny-driven storytelling over conventional action spectacle.
