Directed by Gore Verbinski, The Ring stars Naomi Watts as journalist Rachel Keller, who investigates a mysterious videotape said to kill anyone who watches it seven days later. Her search leads to the history of Samara Morgan and a supernatural curse that begins to threaten her own family. Based on Koji Suzukis book and the Japanese film Ring (1998), the film brings the story into an American setting while retaining its central ghost-story and cursed-video premise.
