David Cronenbergs The Shrouds (2024) is a deeply personal body horror drama in which Vincent Cassel plays Karsh, a grief-stricken entrepreneur who invents GraveTech a dystopian technology that lets mourners watch their loved ones decompose in real-time. After the shrouds are desecrated, Karsh becomes embroiled in a mystery of conspiracy, grief, and tech-fueled obsession. With Cronenbergs raw exploration of loss, bodily decay, and surveillance, the film reaffirms his legacy as the master of emotional, speculative horror.
