Directed by François Ozon and based on Albert Camus novel The Stranger, the film follows Meursault, a detached young man living in colonial Algeria whose emotional indifference becomes central after a fatal act on a beach leads to a murder trial. Starring Benjamin Voisin and Rebecca Marder, the film combines existential drama, psychological tension and period storytelling within a stylized black-and-white presentation. The adaptation premiered in competition at the Venice Film Festival.
