Directed by Renny Harlin, The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024) reintroduces the home invasion premise of the franchise, following a couple stranded in a remote town who become targets of masked assailants. The film emphasizes sustained tension, vulnerability, and the unpredictability of the attackers while revisiting the minimalist terror approach associated with the original film. The narrative functions as the opening chapter of a planned trilogy expanding the franchises mythology.
